Snow To Shovel

The snow has finally hit Toronto, enough that my husband spent over an hour shoveling our driveway. Snow can be very heavy, so it takes a long time. When you get to be our age you also have to be careful because every year people have heart attacks while shoveling snow.

I tried to help, but after about 20 minutes, my hands were too cold. I have good leather gloves, but they don’t provide enough warm. Then I went out again with knit gloves under the leather, but my hands were freezing again before too long.

So the first rule of winter: warm gloves or mitts and a warm hat (I used to get earaches a lot as a kid because I refused to wear something warm on my ears).
