Searching For a Job

If you are coming to Ontario thinking that it will take no time at all to find a job, think again. Even if the position is not in your field, the process is a slow one.

Often you will have more than one interview, with more than one person asking you questions about yourself and your qualifications. Sometimes, it may be a week or more between interviews. You will also need to provide references, both personal and professional.

Be prepared for the wait and don’t be afraid to apply at a number of places. There will be times when you are sure that the interviews went well and you are the best candidate for the job. Then they may turn around and tell you that the position has been filled internally.

It wastes their time and yours when that happens, but unfortunately it does.
