The Local Coffee Shop

Canadians like their coffee and the local coffee shop is not just a place to buy it, but a social and work centre.

Drop into the average coffee shop in Ontario and you will find groups of people sitting around the tables together and visiting. Another table may have someone meeting with a business associate to discuss work over coffee. Someone working on their laptop computer (many shops provide wireless Internet service) could be at another table.

Coffee shops can be home to club meetings and presentations. You may even overhear a job interview at a nearby table. For the person sitting alone, a coffee shop is great for people watching and getting used to hearing English conversation.

Is it any wonder that there seems to be a coffee shop on every corner?
