Attending a Workshop

The Toronto area has many workshops to attend, day or night, on any number of topics. Prices range from almost free with groups like Meet-up to hundreds of dollars for specialized information.

This weekend I went to a two full day Internet Marketing workshop given by a large company from the west coast. Along with a massive amount of information given at a frantic pace, there were products to buy and people to meet. At $97 US, the workshop was one of the better ones I’ve attended.

Some tips for making your workshop experience a pleasant one: check out the company first by doing a Google search (there are some scams out there), listen carefully since some speakers talk extremely quickly, bring a jacket since the room may be cool, and enjoy meeting people during the break times.

Another Store Break-in

My son has had another break-in at his College Street store. That makes three attempted robberies in total. The robbery at the Yonge Street location happened even before the store was ever opened.

This is the downside to having a business in a large city like Toronto. It is too bad that some people, who are too lazy to work, have to spoil things for the people that are trying to get ahead.
