Do You Backup Regularly?

This post isn’t about Canada, but if it wasn’t for my computer, I wouldn’t be able to blog about Canada.

Today, as I was typing, my screen went black and my computer powered off. My first thought was, “do I have a backup of my data?” My answer, I’m afraid, was “no”.

Thankfully, I was able to get my computer started again and the first thing I did was sign-up for a free online backup service called Mozy.

If you are like me and have been lax about keeping your work backed up, here is the link: Computer online backup should be automatic. Get free backup with Mozy or unlimited Mozy backup for $4.95

Slushy Snow Day

We’ve had our first real snowstorm here in Cambridge. Large, wet flakes of snow fell all day, covering the streets and cars. Since it isn’t too cold, the snow is wetter than it usually is and makes for slushy walking and driving conditions.

I can’t really describe slush, except that it’s almost like walking in mud, but instead of mud, it’s snow. If that makes any sense at all.

Anyway, everyone seemed to be driving slower and more cautiously, which is always good in this weather. Otherwise, if you try to stop too quickly, your car is liable to keep sliding along the road.

The best place to be in this weather is in a nice warm house looking out the window at the snow falling. It does look pretty.
